The authors of this site are Michael J. and Stephanie Holschlag Rodeffer of Tucson, Arizona USA. Mike is an eighth-generation descendent of Hans David Rothenhöfer, a 1742 Pennsylvania immigrant. We have spent 25+ years researching the descendants of Hans David. In 1994, with the aid of a professional genealogist, Hans David's birthplace (Biberach, near present-day Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg) was identified and several antecedent generations uncovered. At present Hans David's family has been traced to about the mid-1600s.
The authors of this site are particularly interested in accomplishing four objectives:
1) Identifying Rothenhöfers who lived before 1750
2) Assisting persons with Rothenhöfer antecedents trace their lineage
3) Providing transcriptions and data that may aid other researchers and
4) Presenting compilations of data on the antecedents and descendents
of Hans David
By identifying pre-1750 individuals, we hope to compile information on the number and relationship of early Rothenhöfer families and lineages. By helping individuals with Rothenhöfer antecdents trace their roots, we anticipate sharing data that we have collected and, hopefully, learning new information in the process. Lastly, by publishing compilations here, we begin to make available the results of our quarter century of work.
